Feeling nostalgia or simply want to enjoy an old fashion food? The following are recipes to help you create an entire meal, like Grandma used to make. All these recipes are from my collection of vintage recipes. Start with a chicken casserole, baked sweet potatoes add walnut, orange, lettuce and tomato salad with French Dressing Jar Mason, and enjoy an old favorite of Southern Indiana, Applesauce Cake, for dessert. This recipe for chicken casserole is a magazine called THE 1975 sewing. The sewing was a small magazine that was coined full of recipes, knitting and crochet instructions. More of a rural housewife waited anxiously for the postman to leave their local monthly issue in your mailbox. CHICKEN cups chopped cooked chicken CASSEROLE2 2 cups chopped celery 1 / 2 cup almonds 1 / 2 teaspoon salt 2 tablespoons minced onion 2 tablespoons lemon juice 1 cup mayonnaise 1 / 2 teaspoon MSG, optional 1 / 2 cup grated cheese 1 cup crushed potato casserole chipsIn greased 2-quart, combine the ingredients, topping with cheese mixture and chips. Bake at 450 degrees for 12 minutes or until bubbly. ORANGE PECAN SWEET POTATOES A recipe for people ARGO cornstarch. 3 lbs. potatoes, peeled 1 / 2 cup chopped toasted pecans 1 cup brown sugar 2 tablespoons Argo corn starch 1 cup orange juice 2 tablespoons butter 1 teaspoon vanilla 3 extractSpray quarter (13 x 9-in) baking dish with cooking spray. Add sweet potatoes and nuts dish. Combine brown sugar and cornstarch in small saucepan. Gradually add orange juice, whisking to blend. Cook over high heat, stirring constantly, until mixture boils. Reduce heat and simmer 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat, add butter and vanilla. Pour over sweet potatoes. Bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until edges are browned and bubbly. Iceberg lettuce and tomato salad with French dressing MASON JAR 1 head of lettuce in bite-size pieces 2 tomatoes, quartered MASON JAR French dressing 1 can tomato soup 1 / 2 cup vinegar 1 / 2 cup oil 1 / 4 cup sugar 1 teaspoon salt 1 / 2 teaspoon paprika 1 / 2 teaspoon pepper 1 / 2 tsp prepared mustard 1 small onion, finely chopped 1 / 2 teaspoon celery seedBeat all ingredients and store in a covered jar in the refrigerator. Yesterday 3 / 4 liter. Applesauce CAKE This is another good old family recipe of southern Indiana. 1 1 / 2 cup sugar 1 / 4 cup shortening or oil 1 egg 1 1 / 2 cups unsweetened applesauce 1 teaspoon cinnamon cloves 1 / 2 teaspoon Two cups flour 1 / 4 teaspoon salt 2 teaspoons soda 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 cup raisins 1 / 2 cup walnuts, optionalIn a large bowl, mix all ingredients except raisins and nuts. Mix with electric mixer until well blended. Add raisins and nuts. Place in a baking pan 9 x 13-inch and cook in an oven at 375 degrees about 45 minutes or until done. Enjoy!

Organize your collection of recipes for free

Collection of recipes from around the World Wide Web can be fun and very rewarding in terms of food it consumes. It can also be a nightmare to organize. There has to be. A bit of work from the beginning will pay rewards as their collection of recipes grows. No need to buy expensive software, all you need is on your computer at this time. No need to print anything out, either, even though most of the websites of good food you provide with the installation. Just follow the simple step by step instructions below. I’m assuming you’re a Windows user that has Internet Explorer as your Web browser (software that lets you access the Internet). If you have a different system, do not worry, the only real difference is probably that their “archive” Favorites “is called ‘bookmarks’. I will also assume that you know virtually nothing about the use of that file. You may easier to print these instructions out. This is what you should do: 1. Open your browser by double clicking on the ‘e’ icon in the desktop (the area of the screen you see when it is happening otherwise.) 2. In the gray bar above see the following: File Edit View Favorites Tools Help. Click Favorites. 3. In the menu that appears, click Organize Favorites and the box that appears you will see four buttons on the left. Click Create Folder. 4. In the right window you will see a new folder appears with the words ‘New Folder’ highlighted in blue. Without doing anything else, write the word Recipes and hit the ‘Enter’ key. That is a step completed. 5. Now click Create new folder and name this folder chicken. You now have two new folders, one under the other, but we want the folder inside the folder Chicken Recipes and that is easy to do. 6. Chicken Select the folder by clicking once on it. Click the button labeled Move to Folder. 7. In the window that appears navigate to the folder of recipes, click on it once, and then click ‘OK’. Returning to the original window, you see that the folder is gone chicken. 8. Click the folder of recipes and you’ll reappear, but this time inside the folder of recipes. 9. The addition of more sub-folders is easy. All you have to do is select the folder of chicken by clicking on it once and then click Create Folder. You will see the new folder appears in the folder and inside the chicken recipes folder. Call this lamb or salmon or whatever else you like. You can go on adding folders like this until you have everything you need. You can also add more at a later date with only follow the same process. Before concluding, we will check that you have everything working as it should. Go to this page http://www. all-about-kitchen. com / chicken (if a picture is displayed with my photo on to click the little ‘x’ in the upper right corner to get rid of it) and click Add to Favorites followed. Scroll down in the window that appears and click the little [+] next to recipes, then chicken and finally the OK button in the upper right corner. That’s it, you’re done. You now have a comprehensive collection of chicken recipe neatly stored in your Favorites file that is accessible at any time. And, of course, you can add as many different web pages or individual recipes as you wish, the procedure is the same. Just get in the habit of clicking the Favorites button if you find a recipe you like and need not be surrounded by pieces of paper again.

A Collection of Recipes from India Curry powder

 In an attempt to improve the quality of our food we eat we should be trying to cook our food and fresh salsas, here is a list of different curry powder collected from the entire network that helps in making the perfect homemade curry.  Curry powder â? ¢ 5 tablespoons ground coriander â? ¢ 7 tablespoons ground cumin â? ¢ 1 tablespoon paprika â? ¢ 1 tablespoon turmeric â? ¢ 1 tablespoon chili powder â? ¢ 1 teaspoon crushed fennel seeds â? ¢ 1 teaspoon ground ginger â? ¢ 1 teaspoon garlic powder Mix all spices together and store in a air tight jar.  Curry powder â? ¢ 2 ½ tablespoon coriander seeds â? ¢ 2 ½ teaspoon cumin seeds â? ¢ 1 teaspoon fennel seeds â? ¢ 5 cm (2 inch) cinnamon stick â? ¢ 1 teaspoon cloves â? ¢ 3 bay leaves â? ¢  ½ teaspoon paprika â? ¢ 2 teaspoon turmeric â? ¢ 1 teaspoon chili powder â? ¢ 1 tablespoon garam masala Mix the whole spices in a dry skillet and saute pan over medium heat for about a minute. Once you begin to release a strong odor remove from heat and allow to cool. With a pestle and mortar grind the seeds, cinnamon, cloves and bay leaves as fine as possible. Mix the ground spices and store in a dark, cool and a seal.  Masala powder â? ¢ 4 teaspoon ground coriander â? ¢ 3 tsp cumin â? ¢ 4 teaspoon garlic powder â? ¢ 4 teaspoon paprika â? ¢ 3 teaspoon ground ginger â? ¢ 2 teaspoon mango powder â? ¢ 1 teaspoon dried mint â? ¢ 3 teaspoon deep red dye â? ¢ 1 teaspoon chili powder â? ¢ 1 teaspoon yellow food coloring Ground fresh coriander and cumin in a mortar, mix with remaining ingredients and store in an airtight container. The coriander and cumin powder should be freshly ground.  Tandoori Powder â? ¢ 5 tablespoons ground coriander â? ¢ 7 tablespoons ground cumin â? ¢ 2 tablespoons smoked paprika â? ¢ 2 tablespoons turmeric â? ¢ 1 tablespoon chili powder â? ¢ 2 teaspoons ground ginger â? ¢ 4 teaspoons garlic powder â? ¢ 1 tablespoon garam massalla Mix all spices together and store in a air tight jar. To add red tandoori powder 1 tablespoon red dust and remove 1 tablespoon of turmeric powder.  Chaat Masala Powder â? ¢ 4 tablespoons coriander seeds â? ¢ 2 tablespoons cumin seeds â? ¢ 1 teaspoon ajwain (thymol) seeds â? ¢ 2-3 dried red chiles all â? ¢ 3 tbsp black salt crystals â? ¢ 1 / 2 teaspoon citric acid â? ¢ 1 tablespoon dried mango powder (amchoor) â? ¢ 1 tablespoon salt â? ¢ 2 teaspoon garam masala â? ¢ 1 teaspoon white / black pepper (optional) Roast the all seeds separately and grind in a mortar with chilies, black salt and citric acid until it forms a powder. Mix remaining ingredients and store in an airtight container.
